The P.Audio X8-12AW is an active, bi-amplified sound reinforcement system.The design features a 12 inch low frequency woofer coupled with a new high frequency driver. The X8-12AW is a compact system designed for portable sound reinforcement applications that require excellent bass response and controlled acoustic radiation from a small format system. The high frequency section features a new small format true compression driver that features increased mid band sensitivity and extended amplitude response. The horn design has a varying coverage pattern, providing wide 90 degree dispersion towards the front of the room, and narrow 40 degree radiation to the back. This means there is less reflected sound, increasing the intelligibility of the system. The X8-12AW utilizes a bi-amplified class D amplifier design that boasts a full 650 watts of peak output power. The pre amplifier is a DSP based design that features multiple user adjustable presets to optimize the system response for varying musical styles and program material. The X8-12AW presents enhanced system dynamics as well as updated amplitude response. The result is superior system intelligibility and broad band fidelity. The system DSP provides all high order crossover and equalization required to ensure high reliability and enhanced acoustical performance. The preamp features mic level inputs, multiple line level inputs and a parallel output when multiple X8 enclosures are specified. User adjustable level and EQ controls are also included. The X8-12AW is a wooden cabinet design that includes a top hat for loudspeaker stand mounting. The system has been designed for a variety of indoor applications included small format DJ operation, particularly in conjunction with the X8-Sub. The X8-12AW is ideal for use in live sound reinforcement applications such as solo,duo and small combo environments as well as general purpose public address applications.
